The production capacities of domestic shipbuilding enterprises need serious updating and modernization.

It is interesting that information technologies are being introduced quite widely, but due to the obsolete machine tool this does not give the effect that could be expected. It is noted that a number of enterprises have unique technologies (processing and welding of titanium structures, equipment for assembling large assembly units, measuring and testing complexes, etc.), surpassing the world level in terms of technical characteristics, but inferior in mechanization and automation.
